Message Owned my NA 2+2 since brand new in 91, when I was but a lad of 30... joined this forum waaaaay back when it was the original twinturbo.com many years ago...anyway...

At 118K car running like cr*p...searched all of tt.net for info, figured it was the injector(s), #2 quit altogether, the rest all OHMed out bad...I'm not particularly mechanical, but decided to have a go since I'm sure the dealership would ream me big time on this...did the plenum pull, TB bypass, installed new style injectors using adapter kit from Z1, spliced/soldered in new style injector connectors, new coil pack connectors, all new fuel lines w/ABA ss clamps, new silicone pcv, egr, vacuum hoses (the factory ones were brittle and crumbling and impossible to get off in one piece), new fan blade, flushed out the cooling system, new radiator hoses and hardpipe. New cam cover gaskets. Changed out the busted/crumbling connectors on the IACV, water temp etc with new 'old style' injector connectors from Bernie (ground off the locating lug on the outside edge of the car's male connector so the female FI connectors fit...). Scrubbed out the upper plenum as good as I could, ditto the lower plenum - lots of black oily carbon gunk in there after 20 years!

Finished putting everything back together this afternoon, held my breath, fired her up, and she's running like a well oiled sewing machine now (thankfully - did not want to have to take that all apart again to debug...).

Still have a few minor things to do - bit the bullet and got new cowls on both sides (why so expensive?!), new antenna mast etc. AC needs recharge. Need tires too...

but mostly she's working right...thanks to the info here on tt.net

LOL - Just got my county tax assesment on the car - since its now in its 21st year, it went down big time - they valued it at $50 and assessed me 96 cents annual tax! Smallest tax bill I ever had...
